By Air

Depending to the air company, you will arrive to one of the three airports in Moscow: Sheremetyevo (SVO), Domodedovo (DME), Vnukovo (VKO). To get to the city center you can use the Aeroexpress train which goes from all airports each 30 min. The trip costs 470 rub., you can buy a ticket in a ticket vending machine using a credit card. You can also use your Mastercard Pay Pass or Visa Pay Wave card to go through the turnstiles - in this case you will get a 10% discount. Trains arrive to the railway stations where you can take metro. Find more information here:

You can also use the Uber app for your phone to get a taxi to the city center. The approximate cost is 1000 rub. The official airport taxi costs more.

By Train

Depending to the country, you will arrive to one of these railway stations: Belorussky, Leningradsky, Kievsky, Rizhsky. All the stations are situated in the center of Moscow and near the metro.


On arrival to Russia you will need to fill the Migration card. Please keep this document safe! On arrival to your hotel/hostel provide the stuff with your Migration card, so they can register you in the migration office. The procedure of registration is obligatory for all foreigners who spend more than 7 days in Russia. You have 7 days since your arrival to make a registration. If you are going to stay at your friends’ place (not in a hotel or hostel) please let us know, so we can make a registration for you.

Getting Around

By Bus / Tram / Underground

To use public transport in Moscow (which includes metro, buses, trams and trolleybuses) we recommend you to buy a transport card “Troika”. It costs 50 rub., and can be returned at the end of your stay. To charge the card you can use ticket vending machines situated at every metro station. Ticket vending machines accept cash and credit cards (including non contact). Here you can find more information about tickets and fares of Moscow public transport

Metro is open since 5:30 till 1:00. In the night time you can use night buses or taxi. You can use Uber or Gett apps.
